From a young age, tennis was my life. I was always tall for my age — known for a powerful serve and, admittedly, a rather unpredictable temper. It's taken me forty years to understand where that came from; sometimes we bury things so deeply that we only uncover them much later in life, the need to find some calm came into my life.

Tennis gave me incredible highs, but also lasting injuries. In my junior days, strength and recovery training weren't what they are today. I battled recurring elbow and back problems that eventually forced me off the court. After moving to Spain in my early twenties to teach tennis, the pain became constant. Long hours on court took their toll — until one day, I snapped my rackets and walked away for good.

For years, I couldn't even watch tennis. I turned instead to media — working in newspapers, magazines, and eventually running a radio station. It was rewarding, but sitting behind a desk made my back worse.

When my daughter was born in 2014, life gave me a second serve, a second wind at tennis after 20 years, why not!. Watching her fall in love with tennis brought me back to the court — this time as a father and coach. She’s now a dedicated Tennis player, surfer and ski fanatic, and I couldn’t be prouder. But trying to keep up at 46, after years of painkillers and muscle relaxants, was no longer sustainable.

So I made a decision: to find a natural alternative working with the team at Natural leaf, the search started — we are looking for something that could calm the mind, ease pain, and support recovery. That journey led to facilities throughout Spain where the brand NUBO – Nuevo Botánico was born, a natural CBD brand inspired by balance, movement, and wellbeing.

NUBO CBD was born from experience — a lifetime of sport, stress, and recovery transformed into something pure and powerful. It’s more than a product. It’s a philosophy: to live naturally, play freely, and find balance once again.

Being able to go surfing, play paddle tennis, and snowboard at 46 without injury pain, and managing to keep up with my family is the most important thing for me.
